Jodi Martinez

Therapist at Breathe Counseling

Jodi will hold you to what you said you wanted.

If you've done therapy before and it turned into a weekly hour of describing your life to someone who nodded, she is the opposite of that. She pays attention to what you say you're going to do, and she'll ask about it. She'll name the thing you keep doing that keeps producing the result you say you don't want. Not harshly, but she isn't going to let it slide to keep the session comfortable.

That said, she's not moralistic and she's not trying to run your life. What she asks for is honesty, not compliance. You can be doing something she'd never recommend, and as long as you're telling the truth about it, she can work with you. What she can't work with is pretending.

She's works especially well with neurodivergent clients and teenagers who are tired of adults managing them. She thinks in patterns and systems, so she tends to spot the structure underneath a problem rather than treating each week's crisis as its own separate event.

She fights for her people.
